10 Day Morocco Tour from Casablanca: Imperial Cities, Sahara and Marrakech

Ten days from Casablanca with time to breathe: two nights in Chefchaouen, guided visits of Fes and Marrakech and a night in a Sahara camp. Weekly departures, €890.

  • Casablanca
  • Small group
  • From J$ 159,186 (€890) per person

Overview

Our 10 day Morocco tour from Casablanca follows the classic circuit from our 8-day trip, then slows it down where it matters. You get a free day in Chefchaouen, the blue town most travelers wish they had stayed longer in, and two nights in Marrakech with a guided city tour before heading back to Casablanca for your flight.

The journey starts with the Hassan II Mosque on arrival day, then Rabat and the Rif mountains. After two nights in Chefchaouen, you visit Roman Volubilis on the way to Fes for a guided day in the medina. Next comes the drive over the Middle Atlas to Merzouga, a camel trek at sunset and a night in a Berber camp, followed by the Todra and Dades gorges and Aït Benhaddou on the way to Marrakech. After a day with a local guide among palaces and souks, you return to Casablanca on day ten.

Small groups of up to 17 travelers share an air-conditioned minibus, with weekly departures and a fixed €890 per person. Arriving a day early? A Casablanca city tour is an easy way to use it.

Itinerary

  1. Day 1 Arrival in Casablanca, Hassan II Mosque

Welcome to Morocco. Most overnight flights from the US arrive in Casablanca in the morning; make your own way to your hotel or ask us to book an airport transfer. Once you have rested, visit the Hassan II Mosque, partly built over the ocean, with a minaret that is one of the tallest in the world. Guided interior visits run at set times (ticket not included); cover shoulders and knees. Stroll along the Corniche of Aïn Diab in the late afternoon, then meet your driver and group for dinner and a briefing on the days ahead.

Overnight: Hotel in Casablanca Meals: Dinner

  2. Day 2 Casablanca – Rabat – Chefchaouen

After breakfast, drive an hour north to Rabat, Morocco's capital. See the Hassan Tower, the elegant Mausoleum of Mohammed V and the Kasbah of the Udayas, a quiet quarter of white and blue houses above the Atlantic. After lunch (not included), head inland through farmland and olive groves to the Rif mountains, about four hours with a stop. Arrive in Chefchaouen in the late afternoon and check in for two nights. Take a first walk through the blue alleys and up to Outa el-Hammam square before dinner.

Overnight: Hotel or riad in Chefchaouen Meals: Breakfast, dinner

  3. Day 3 Chefchaouen at leisure

A free day to enjoy Chefchaouen at your own pace. Start early, when the alleys are empty and the blue walls glow. Visit the red-walled kasbah and its garden on the main square, then follow the stream up to the Ras El Ma spring. For views, hike the path to the Spanish Mosque or, with a local guide (optional), head into the hills of Talassemtane National Park. Chefchaouen is also good for shopping: woven blankets, wool jackets and local goat cheese. End the day with sunset over the rooftops.

Overnight: Hotel or riad in Chefchaouen Meals: Breakfast, dinner

  4. Day 4 Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Fes

After breakfast, drive south through rolling hills to Volubilis, the best-preserved Roman site in Morocco and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walk past the triumphal arch, the basilica and colorful floor mosaics, with the holy town of Moulay Idriss on the hillside opposite (entrance and site guide not included). After lunch (not included), continue to Fes, arriving in the late afternoon. Check in to your hotel or riad for two nights and enjoy dinner in the city many call the spiritual heart of Morocco.

Overnight: Hotel or riad in Fes Meals: Breakfast, dinner

  5. Day 5 Fes guided visit

Spend the day with a licensed local guide in Fes el-Bali, a medieval medina where donkeys still carry goods through the lanes. Visit a madrasa such as Bou Inania or Al-Attarine, the Nejjarine fountain, the exterior of the Al-Qarawiyyin mosque and university, founded in the 9th century, and the Chouara tannery from a terrace above the dye pits. Meet artisans in their workshops: weavers, coppersmiths and tile makers. The afternoon is free for shopping, a hammam or the Royal Palace gates in Fes el-Jdid.

Overnight: Hotel or riad in Fes Meals: Breakfast, dinner

  6. Day 6 Fes – Merzouga, desert camp

An early departure for the longest drive of the trip, around 8 hours with stops. Cross the Middle Atlas through Ifrane and the cedar forest near Azrou, home to Barbary macaques, and the high plateau to Midelt for lunch (not included). Descend into the Ziz Valley, a deep canyon full of palms, and continue through Errachidia and Erfoud to Merzouga. At the edge of the dunes, ride a camel for about an hour into Erg Chebbi, watch the sunset from a crest and spend the night at a Berber camp with dinner and music.

Overnight: Desert camp in Merzouga (Erg Chebbi) Meals: Breakfast, dinner

  7. Day 7 Merzouga – Todra – Dades

Watch the sunrise over the dunes, then ride back to Merzouga for breakfast. Drive west through Erfoud and Tinejdad, past the khettara, centuries-old underground canals that water the oases. In Tinghir, follow the palm grove into the Todra Gorge and walk the narrowest section, between cliffs up to 300 m high. After lunch (not included), continue to Boumalne and into the Dades Gorge, past the rippled rocks called Monkey Fingers. If there is light left, walk along the river below the cliffs. Dinner and overnight in a hotel in the gorge.

Overnight: Hotel in the Dades Gorge Meals: Breakfast, dinner

  8. Day 8 Dades – Aït Benhaddou – Marrakech

Follow the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs west through Kelaat M'Gouna and the palm oasis of Skoura to Ouarzazate. Visit Aït Benhaddou, a UNESCO-listed ksar of earthen houses on the old caravan route, famous as a film set, and climb to the top for the view. After lunch (not included), cross the High Atlas over the Tizi n'Tichka pass at 2,260 m and descend to Marrakech. Check in for two nights and head to Jemaa el-Fna in the evening, when the square fills with grills, musicians and storytellers.

Overnight: Hotel or riad in Marrakech Meals: Breakfast, dinner

  9. Day 9 Marrakech guided visit

After breakfast, a licensed local guide shows you the highlights of the Red City. Typical stops include the Bahia Palace with its courtyards and painted ceilings, the Saadian Tombs, the Mellah, and the souks around the Ben Youssef area, where your guide shares tips on bargaining. Entrance fees are not included. The afternoon is free: visit the Jardin Majorelle, book a hammam, take a cooking class or enjoy a last mint tea on a rooftop terrace. Dinner and your final night in Marrakech.

Overnight: Hotel or riad in Marrakech Meals: Breakfast, dinner

  10. Day 10 Marrakech – Casablanca, end of tour

Enjoy a last breakfast and a free morning in Marrakech for final purchases in the souks. Around midday, the minibus drives back to Casablanca, about three hours on the highway across the plains, with a short stop on the way. The tour ends in the afternoon at Mohammed V airport or your Casablanca hotel. If you fly out the same evening, leave a comfortable margin for traffic and check-in; if your flight is the next day, we can book an extra night for you near the airport or in the city.

Moroccan journey

My family and I planned our own 10-day itinerary in Morocco. We hired a car with a driver to travel with us and enjoy everything Morocco has to offer. Salem, our driver, was a great person: kind, always available, and not just our driver — he suggested things to do, places to see and where to stay, and explained his traditions and culture…

Frequently asked questions

How does the shared group tour work?

Up to 17 travelers share an air-conditioned minibus and the same driver for all ten days. You follow one itinerary and share hotels and dinners, with free time in most cities.

Is the €890 price fixed?

Yes, it is a fixed price per person (about US$1,000 as of October 2026), regardless of how many people join. A PayPal deposit confirms your place; the balance is paid on arrival.

Is there a single supplement?

Yes, on request. Otherwise we pair solo travelers of the same gender in twin rooms where possible.

What is the difference from the 8-day tour from Casablanca?

The 10-day tour adds a free day in Chefchaouen and a guided day in Marrakech, so you have two nights in four different places and a much easier rhythm.

Can I upgrade the hotels and camp?

Yes. A superior upgrade with nicer riads and hotels and a desert camp with private-bathroom tents is available for an extra charge, quoted on request.

Any questions about this tour?
